The Alliance for National Transformation party presidential candidate Rtd. Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu who is canvassing for votes in Busoga region has been tasked to embrace unity with the race’s major challenger to the incumbent. While addressing Bugiri locals on Thursday, Mugisha Muntu began his speech with rallying the voters to refrain from selling off their votes to the NRM politicians.

“Leadership is not about money; it’s about the heart. Don’t be misled by money offered by these people in NRM,”Muntu told the people. “I call upon all of you to vote for a person who has the good leadership credentials,” he added.

The voters however also urged him to embrace the calls for a united force to unseat the incumbent government. “We call upon you Gen. Muntu to consider joining Hon. Kyagulanyi who is giving the president sleepless nights,” the voters asked Muntu. “Here in Busoga, we are looking for change and that can be achieved if we work as one,” they added.

Bugiri district which is one of the hotspots of the People Power movement is considered to be one of the most decisive points of Busoga region. The incumbent legislator, Asuman Basalirwa is one of the products of Bobi’s efforts for a united opposition front.
