NUP presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine says the massive love showered at him by the people of Western Uganda shows that the region has detached from the incumbent’s lies and divisive propaganda.

Bobi Wine writes

When Gen. Museveni was in Ntungamo recently, he told the people of the district not to vote for me simply because I married their daughter! Scared by the massive support we have here, he chose to de-campaign me in this area which has become a second home to me. The blockages of our people today from accessing us is clear evidence of how scared he is.

Of course, Gen. Museveni knows what we stand for but he attempts to bastardise it! Just to remind him, NUP has a manifesto which he should interest himself in reading. We also have a good plan for Uganda, in fact a better plan than his failed one! I am a proud son in law of the people of Ntungamo. Ever since they gave me my miracle of a wife, Barbie Kyagulanyi has been my one and only wife and all the children I have are mothered by her. I told the people of Ntungamo that my marriage to their daughter was the evidence of my character. The manner in which I have treated her for close to two decades is evidence of my commitment! Of course, it has been through our own effort and the grace of God. These are values I cherish.

I told our people to judge us both by our actions and not our words. Gen. Museveni’s actions are well known by the people of Uganda, although hypocritically he has been trying to challenge the morals and decency of me personally and of us as a generation. I challenge him to match up.

You all know Museveni and his cronies have always played the tribal card on us but the people of Ntungamo and indeed the whole western Uganda have ashamed him. We are a generation that is not defined by tribe or religion but by values. I am so proud to call Ntungamo home and my children are so lucky to share that blood. The people of Ntungamo are so special to me, they’re my in-laws who I give so much respect.
