We earlier today reported that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni had appointed Maj. Gen. Kayanja Muhanga as the Kampala joint security operations coordinator to link between joint operations of the police force, the military and intelligence agencies.

Maj Gen Kayanja Muhanga joins his fellow army men who are in charge of Kampala including Maj Gen Paul Lokech, deputy IGP; Maj Gen Sam Kawagga, the commander of first division Kakiri, Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda, chief of staff land forces, Maj Gen Abel Kandiho, commander Chieftaincy of military Intelligence,Brig Gen CS Ddamulira, director crime intelligence in police.

Mr. Muhanga has worked in a series of UPDF missions in Mbarara at Makenke barracks where headed the 2nd Division. He has just returned from a full year military training at the National Defence College in South Africa where he has learnt a lot about intelligence and security. Maj. Gen. Muhanga comes with the Mogadishu experience which he us expected to apply in Kampala during and after the 2021 general elections. He has been assigned to team up with Paul Lokech in the mission to combat the anticipated opposition riots in the Kampala Metropolitan area.
