Multiple news outlets have reported the death of Uganda’s security Minister and bush war historical, Gen. Elly Tumwiine. The cause of his death has not yet been confirmed but sources say the elderly radical historical was struck by hypertension and pressure.
Some news outlets have however disregarded the report saying it is unverified and fake news.
Gen. Elly Tumwiine is remembered for his insensitive comments on the November, 18, 2020 deaths of citizens which he heavily glorified. In his remarks, “Police has a right to shoot and kill”, Gen. Tumwiine unapologetically sent a strong warning to the opposition supporters who intend to ‘disrupt’ the peace of Uganda.
Gen. Tumwiine would later resurface on radio and television stations still maintaining the same rhetoric till he was restrained by the outspoken Kiira municipality legislator Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda who lashed out at him for his insensitive.
We are yet to confirm if the bush war historical is dead as rumoured. It should be noted that all the deaths of prominent government figures which occured in 2020 were first disregarded and would later be approved as authentic. The deaths of the first Deputy Prime Minister Kirunda Kivejinja, Sheikh Nuuhu Muzaata, Pr. Augustine Yiga and Col. Shaban Bantariza were all first disregarded as false and later turned out to be true.
