The police spokesperson Fred Enanga says the security deployment will be withdrawn upon receipt of official court ruling in today’s verdict where it was directed that the forces vacate the premises of NUP party presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine.
While reacting on the ruling in the weekly security press briefing at Naguru police headquarters, Fred Enanga said whereas they have heard about the verdict on media, they are ready to take implementing if only court avails a document detailing its ruling. “We have heard that court has cleared Hon. Kyagulanyi and urged us to leave his home,” Enanga says. “However, we can only take action if court shares with us the ruling. As of now, we will still stay around his premises till we get that court ruling,” he added.
He however urged Bobi Wine to desist from flouting covid guidelines and as well refraining from preaching messages of ‘defiance’ against the just concluded presidential election. He says as the police, they are to continue monitoring Hon. Kyagulanyi with a ‘keen eye’.
