The dispatched team is by Ambassador Walusimbi Abbey whom Museveni has assigned to kick start the reconciliation process with the US based Ugandan community.

This comes at a time when the diaspora community has been vocal and instrumental in exposing the wrath of the regime brutality and gross human rights violations pursued by the 35 year d dictatorship of Gen. Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni whi ascended to the presidential seat in 1986 after a 5 gear guerrilla war that left over half a million people killed in the clashes between NRA rebels and the Obote government.

Museveni’s diplomatic efforts seeks to iron out differences between the diaspora community which has largely supported the campaign trail of his major challenger Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine of the National Unity Platform party. Below is the document issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry in which the president tries to woo the Ugandan diaspora community.
