President Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni has called on the Catholic church clerics to return back to church schedules now that the elections have ended.

Catholic bishops and priests are accused of indulging in partisan politics by reprtedly influencing public opinion during the church sermons and this the NRM believes is what fatally inflicted political harm on the incumbent Members of parliament and ministers who miserably lost in the entire Buganda region where the church had big influence.

“Go back and analyse your villages/communities to find out how many homes are involved in the money economy. This is the biggest war you can help us as a Church,” Museveni said. “You are men of God and that is where you should serve and leave the politics to politicians,” he added.

Unlike in the previous general elections, the Catholic church clerics have in yhe just concluded polls played a pivotal role in teaching the electorate what representation leadership should be like. The priests reportedly exposed poor service delivery like schools, hospitals in dilapidation and the poverty crisis that has held grip of the country. This they said would be ended if the people vote for leaders who stand for their views.
