“We have enough empty cells in the prisons to keep hooligans,” says Dr Johnson Byabashaija, the prisons boss.
The commissioner general of government prisons was commenting on the words uttered by NUP party President Hon Kyagulanyi who said that he was taking the petition to the court of public opinion after withdrawing it from the high court where he allegedly didn’t see any justice.
Byabashaija said that the security is aware of the plans by the opposition to start chaos and cause Mayhem in the country which he says will not be accepted or tolerated. He added that the prisons service has ample space to keep all those who want to become violent and act unlawfully because they would not be fit to live in the public.
“We have so many empty bored prison cells which need company from law breakers. As prisons, we are ready to receive you.” He said. “Our maize farms and plantations too need some ploughing and we will be obliged to have free labour from NUP,” he adds.
Byabashaija added that Uganda is a democratic country which will not allow any one to start undermining the democracy and prevailing peace.
Recently, Kyagulanyi instructed his lawyers to withdraw the case from the Supreme Court so as to take the matter to the people’s court.
The people’s court is misinterpreted by some people as a form of violence, demonstrations and riots aimed at overthrowing the current government
