Multiple reports from NUP leaning bloggers indicate that the Rubaga North councillor elect, Mubiru James has died in custody.
Mubiru who was a week back abducted by security operatives at Kasubi market in Rubaga division has been missing with no official comment from his captors explaining why the it so happened.
A condemnation statement from Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine indicated that Mubiru was not in police custody but rather the holding cells of State house Nakasero. His vehicle too was towed to Old Kampala police station a day after his abduction.
NUP Kawempe Lord Councillor Ssenono Denis alias Denicity posted on his Facebook claiming that Mubiru had died in custody of his abductors, something our sources are striving to verfify. Similarly, Musiri David, a former Makindye West MP aspirant posted a photo of a vigil that is apparently ongoing at the offices of the troubled Mubiru James.
Prior to his abduction, Mubiru had made a public declaration that he was to join the peaceful protests challenging the victory of Mr. Museveni who they say looted Bobi Wine’s far fetched 54.19% win. Mubiru was later waylaid at Kasubi Market where he had gone to meet with his supporters. Efforts to understand his whereabouts have since been futile with security keeping mute on the operation they hatched to net the NUP strongman.
