President Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni has today decided to make his own arrangements for paying his last respects to the fallen Tanzanian leader, John Pombe Magufuli who passed on to cardiac complications last Wednesday according to a statement issued by Dar es Salaam.
Museveni, alongside the first lady Janet Kataaha decided to hold their parallel function at the Tanzanian high commission in Kampala.
It is said that the duo were denied a chance to attend the major function in Tanzania after alleged travel sanctions imposed by the African Union.
The oil pipeline project agreement which was agreed upon last year when the two heads of state met in Tanzania was supposed to be signed today but was however deferred to a later date after the demise of Magufuli.
East African nations have already flown their flags at half mast in respect to their fallen Tanzanian counterpart.
