The National Unity Platform party president also former presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine has officially taken a brief vacation to the diaspora.
His leave has been announced by the NUP party spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi who revealed that the trip is ‘struggle related and oriented’.
“NUP President Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu is leaving the country for a four day official working visit. While away, he will meet several leaders and fellow strugglists on the African continent in furtherance of our struggle for freedom and democracy,” Ssenyonyi reveals in a statement issued on Facebook this morning.
Hon. Kyagulanyi has for long been accused of being an agent of western imperialism and this is a narrative that was hatched by the NRM chairman, Yoweri Museveni who believes that whoever challenges his leadership has a western or ‘LGBT’ backing.
Due to his resilience, Bobi Wine successfully generated himself a foreign following after inspiring his own generation into the liberation struggle. The musician turned politician has featured in a multiplicity of foreign media headlines with stories praising him for his courage to stand in the way of one of Africa’s longest serving despots.
Bobi Wine believes he won the poll with 54.19% though the Electoral Commission announced contrary results that put Tibuhaburwa Museveni in a lead with 58% while Bobi was given 35%.
