A team of Special Forces Command members, an elite presidential guard on Monday disguised as Uganda Revenue Authority commissioners and led the inspection of the NUP party president Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine’s armoured vehicle. The vehicle was seized by URA officials after a court order tasked the former presidential candidate to re-submit the vehicle for tax re-evaluation.

A URA source that declines to be named in fear of reprisals says he witnessed with shock as SFC soldiers examined the brand new Toyota Landcruiser vehicle.
“The dictator continues to exhibit institutions’ break-down where to him everything is conducted like a military operation,” the source says. “The officers who inspected the car knew more about weapons that can pierce the armor rather than taxation,” he adds.
In fact, in the early morning hours, the deployment of SFC and Counter Terrorism Police at URA headquarters in Nakawa showed how serious the authorities were disturbed by the fact that the opposition icon managed to bring in such a car without their consent.
No media house was allowed to access the venue of inspection and the orders were issued directly from state house as the evaluation of the vehicle went on.
