The speaker of parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga has called on the police institution to address the welfare of its men in service so that they can maybe adjust on their conduct that has tainted the image of the country.

Kadaga believes that the frustration and dire conditions the police officers undergo could be the basis of their brutality. “Address the issue of ranks. Consider the time spent in service,” Kadaga advised. “This perhaps could harness the conduct of the men in service,” she adds.
Her advice comes at a time when Uganda is in the spotlight for disrespecting the rights of its own citizens. Uganda at global level now ranks at 117 out of the 128 nations that were surveyed.
