The inauguration ceremony for the newly elected Members of parliament is to take four days in the month of May, according to a communication from the office of the clerk.

Government has gazetted four days for the swearing-in of the 529 new legislators that will constitute the 11th Parliament. The inauguration wilo ensue a week after Mr. Museveni is sworn in for the sixth term on May 10.
In the notice published in the Uganda Gazette of April 19, 2021, by the Clerk to Parliament, Jane Kibirige, the swearing-in will start on May 17 and end on May 20, 2021.
“Notice is hereby given that the Clerk to Parliament will administer the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Members of Parliament to each person elected as a Member of Parliament on 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th May 2021 at Parliament House,” she said.
The eleventh parliament is to constitute a mammoth number of NRM MPs followed by the opposition NUP MPs at 61, FDC 32, among others. The office of the Leader of opposition shall be owned by the National Unity Platform party which leads the minority in the eleventh parliament.
