The Chieftaincy of military intelligence senior army officer and former special forces command boss, Abel Kandiho has scoffed at the United States officials saying they are no longer influential in the internal governance affairs of Uganda. Kandiho made the boastful comments in reference to the state of Guy Milton Smith, a US citizen who was brutally abducted by ISO from Fort Portal city in western Uganda.
“When I see these opposition politicians deceiving themselves that the US can meddle in our issues here, I just laugh,” Kandiho bragged as he had a chat with Gen. Tumwiine at a high profile security meeting for the planned Museveni inauguration. “The Americans have even failed to rescue their own citizen and you tell me they will has time to waste on liberating Ugandans,” he added.
Kandiho further adds that Uganda is a military power in the infantry and airforce. “We have a very strong army right now on the continent,” he said. “I don’t think the US can risk engaging us in an offensive. The most they can do is just to impose sanctions and that is all,” he bragged.
