The Kawempe North MP elect Ssegirinya Muhammad can now comfortably take his medication without worrying much on his fate after parliament finally approved his name among those set to take oath for the eleventh parliament.
Ssegirinya who is in the US based hospital receiving medial attention has been under pressure from the discontented runner up for the Kawempe North seat, Sulaiman Kidandala who has been on a mission to totally unseat him and take over the position. Kidandala had taken oath to fight with all his energy to ensure Ssegirinya’s parliament career suffers a still birth.
When he was close to achieving his hustle of ousting Ssegirinya, the Electoral Commission wrote to court and said Ssegirinya submitted the rightful credentials and met all the requirements to contest. This move is said to have suppressed and depressed Kidandala who was looking for Ssegirinya from Kitalya prison to all corners. Sources say, Kidandala has fainted after seeing the parliament website including Ssegirinya on the list of legislators set to swear in. Also approved is NUP’s Aloysius Mukasa on the disputed Rubaga South seat where he has been facing contestations from Nassolo Eugenia of the Democratic Party.
