The Alliance for National Transformation party president, Gen. Gregg Mugisha Muntu has strongly disregarded the ‘victory’ of incumbent president Yoweri Museveni whom he says has illegally arrested the will of the people and imposed himself for another sixth term even when he did not win the 2021 polls.

Gen. Muntu made these remarks this Monday morning at the NBS morning breeze show where he was giving his views on the election and post-election season. A distressed Muntu says even as Museveni warms up to swear himself in on Wednesday, deep at heart he knows he has gone against the will of the Ugandan electorate.

“The moment president Museveni is sworn in, defacto he will be the president,” Muntu says.

He adds that the election was mired with a span of irregularities. “The election was highly manipulated. The Electoral Commission was disempowered, but that has been the situation in several General Elections,” he says. He further adds that he cannot attend the inauguration ceremony of Gen. Museveni as that shall be a justification of impunity, corruption and bad governance.
