The National Unity Platform party National Executive Committee will today sit at the headquarters in Kamwokya to discuss their parliamentary committee structures in the eleventh parliament.
The NUP party will from the same meeting contemplate about the long awaited discussion for the office of the Leader of opposition. Stringent competition is between the Busiro East MP Medard Lubega Ssegona, Masaka municipality MP Mathias Mpuuga, and John Baptist Nambeshe from Manjiya county.
NUP is also in the same meeting mitigate the way forward regarding unity with other opposition political parties. NUP says some members in parties like FDC, DP and UPC are willing to work with them. However, this has been dispelled by leaders in the FDC like Nathan Nandala Mafabi who says as Najjanankumbi they are unaware of such engagements. “Let them mention those MPs,”Mafabi dares NUP. “As far as I know as the party SG, we are not in talks with NUP,” he adds.
The NUP party will by midday today share its LOP, Chief whip and committee verdict with the media. “We are in the final touches of coming up with these committees,” says the NUP party spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi. “These positions need competent players that can use them well in this struggle,” he adds.
