The aspect of motorcycle gun men has not started with Gen Katumba Wamala yesterday. It has been a trend that has taken many lives of popular Ugandan political and religious leaders.

On April 20, 2012, Kampala: Sheikh Abdul Karim Sentamu, a prominent Muslim scholar, was gunned down along William Street. Assassins disappeared from the scene riding on motorcycles.

Abubaker Kiweewa

June 22, 2012, Kampala: Abubaker Kiweewa was gunned down inside his supermarket in Kyanja by men riding on motorcycles.

Abdul Kadir Muwaya

December 25, 2014, Mayuge: Abdul Kadir Muwaya, a Shiite leader was gunned down at his home by men riding on motorcycles.

Sheikh Mustafa Bahiga

December 28, 2014, Bwebajja:
He was shot dead at a Mosque along Entebbe Road. His attackers were riding motorcycles.

Joan Kagezi

March 30, 2015, Kiwatule: Joan Kagezi, was a senior principal state attorney, she was gunned down at a fruit stall. Her attackers were riding on motorcycles.

Sheikh Abdulrashid Wafula

May 21, 2015, Mbale Heroes FC: Imam of Bilal Mosque in Mbale Town was gunned down in front of his gate in Kireka Village, Nakaloke Town Council. Eyewitnesses say the assailants arrived on the scene and left riding on motorcycles.

Sheikh Ibrahim Hassan Kirya

June 30, 2015, Bweyogerere: He was shot dead by unknown men on a boda boda motor cycle.

Major Muhammad Kiggundu
November 26, 2016, Masanafu: Major Muhammad Kiggundu and his bodyguard were gunned down by assailants riding on two motorcycles.

Andrew Felix Kaweesi
March 17, 2017, Kulambiro: He a senior police officer who was gunned down along with his bodyguard and driver .

Ibrahim Abiriga
June 8, 2018, Kawanda: Ibrahim Abiriga, a Member of Parliament for Arua Municipality, was shot dead

Gen Katumba Wamala
1st June 2021
Killed his driver and daughter Brenda .

We have a responsibility as a generation to put an end to these killings
