Fear has engulfed parliament after five legislators of the eleventh parliament have been asked to self isolate after being found with COVID-19. A source at parliament says the 5 legislators were barred from accessing yesterday’s State of the Nation Address in Kololo independence grounds where president Yoweri Museveni was addressing the public.
Hellen Kaweesa, the parliament Public Relations officer says her office is unaware that some of the MPs had contracted the virus. “We are not informed of the said MPs but as parliament we have a health centre that can manage such emergencies,” she says. ”We urge those MPs to self isolate,” she adds.
The same yet to be named 5 legislators were reportedly seen at the Namugongo martyrs shrine attending mass. The MPs are said to have freely mixed with other people.
Sinilarly, the Leader of opposition, Mathias Mpuuga was also bounced by the elite presidential guard who claimed his covid test was outdated.
