The Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja has scoffed at her critics who are castigating her for initiating the mobile money relief scheme for the vulnerable groups during the 42 day lockdown. According to Nabbanja, those who are opposed to her scheme are a government Mafia clique that had stocked food in anticipation that they would again be contracted to distribute it to the people like case was in the first lockdown.

“Those people are just jealous because they had stored food to sell it to the government,” Nabbanja says. “But the new scheme kicks them out as middle men. We intend to cut administrative costs that’s why we have gone for the mobile money system which is more convenient and feasible,” she adds.

Nabbanja says her decision is inspired by what transpired last year whereby governments spent too much money on relief.  “Last time we incurred too much costs in buying that posho. People complained about not getting food, government spent a lot on manpower and fuel,” she says. “Different people have different tastes. The diabetic people don’t have to eat posho but if we give them their money, they are at liberty to buy their preferred food,” she adds.

Nabbanja shall today officially receive the office of the Prime Minister from her predecessor, Rt. Hon. Ruhakana Rugunda.
