The Minister for security Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi is under fire again following leaked information showing that the Russian firm he tasked to install digital trackers in vehicles of Ugandans filed for bankruptcy last year.
According to the leaked documents, the Joint Stock Company registered as a small business of 10 employees in 2013 and the firm returns for 2020 were only 637,742 rubbles which is an equivalent to $8,000.
After noticing opportunity in the Ugandan deal, the firm hurriedly registered again in this very month on 10th under a different name, Small Medium Enterprise (SME) in Russia. Surprisingly the firm does not even have a website to show the details of what exactly they deal in.
Sources say Minister Jim Muhwezi is aware of all this fraudulent information but given his thieving behaviour having walked off with $6m for GAVI in 2006 when he was Health Minister, he has no problem with sharing the loot with the Russian firm.
