The new Lands Minister Judith Nabakooba has reportedly demanded that all the carpets, furniture, office fittings installed about 2 years ago in her new office to be changed claiming that they are not in proper shape.
A well placed source in her office says she allegedly doesn’t want to use anything previously used by her predecessor, and newly appointed Inspector General of Government (IGG) Hon. Beti Kamya whom she believes to have used witch craft to have the office.
“My boss Nabakooba went to a Mityana shrine last week and she was advised to erase all memories left by Betty Kamya if she does not wish to he reshuffled,” her aide told this reporter. “The minister is suspicious that if she doesn’t do some traditional ceremonies, her tenure in office may be short lived,” the source further intimates.
On the other hand, Ministers; Hanifah Kawooya, Margaret Muhanga (state Minister for Health), Mary Gorret Kitutu (Minerals) have also expressed their demand for new cars. Also implicated on this flamboyant list is the ex NTV news journalist who is now Buduuda woman MP, also state minister for Karamoja Affairs Agnes Nandutu has rejected an official car that was bought 2 years ago at about Shs650m, saying it was previously used inappropriately to carry things like charcoal.
