Barely an hour after the Deputy Inspector General of Police Paul Lokech was discovered dead at his residence this morning at around 10:15am, his senior Martin Okoth Ochola is not convinced that the self anointed ‘lion of Mogadishu’ has succumbed to a blood clot.
Ochola is finding it difficult to believe that Lokech who has been healthy in the past days would die mysteriously. He has since been forced to dispatch a team of police medical experts to go and do a postmortem and establish what exactly has claimed the life of his junior officer.
“The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Okoth M Ochola says he has ”tasked the Director of Medical Services, Dr Moses Byaruhanga to carry out postmortem to establish the cause of Deputy IGP, Maj Gen Paul Lokech’s death,” various media outlets have reported.
It is said that Lokech’s operation in the aftermath of the Gen. Katumba shooting could have clamped down on the criminal gang hired to execute government operations. The network was doing clandestine operations for the regime implying that Lokech’s hardwork was doing a disservice to his masters. For a fact, even one of the remanded Katumba suspects who is a high profile assassin for the regime was earlier in the week reported missing from the heavily guarded Kitalya prison.
