Museveni who has been on a 3 day retreat in the troubled Karamoja subregion has according to reliable reports sensed ‘danger’ with the prevailing instability and insecurity in several parts of the country. Sources privy to the development say Museveni is generally unhappy with the security loopholes in the country. It is said a furious Museveni cited the possibility of a well coordinated campaign to undermine the NRM party last standing achievement of security.
He talked about the isolated killings targeting NRM party bigwigs and categorically discussed the murder of the Ntoroko NRM district chairperson Japheth Kabagambe Ahebwa who was abducted by unknown assailants in Fort Portal city and a few days later discovered dead in a water stream dubbed R. Mpanga.
Museveni according to insiders seeks explanations on why the elderly who he believes to be his supporters are being slain in Masaka, the alleged attacks on NRM party supporters and the gun violence in the Karamoja subregion where several cattle are being stolen.
An inside source says Museveni feels that he has failed to secure the country like he had done in the recent years. He suspects that some opposition elements are undermining his achievement in security. Consequently, the crisis meeting will be held at State House Entebbe where top NRA high command personnel shall attend in person.
