Controversial city lawyer Male Mabirizi Kiwanuka was on Wednesday night spotted sneaking into the Kyadondo road based NRM party secretariat. According to credible sources, Mabirizi is lobbying for financial assistance to enable him pursue his civil suit he filed against the National Unity Platform party president Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine.

Mabirizi pressed his suit at the LDC magistrates court where he seeks to overturn the Makerere University decision to reward Hon. Kyagulanyi with a Diploma in Music, Dance and Drama. In the suit, Mabirizi argues that Kyagulanyi who was then aged 20 in 2000 was way below age 25 at the time he was admitted under the mature entry scheme.

Mabirizi says it was illegal for Hon. Kyagulanyi to accept an admission under a programme he did not ‘qualify for’.

“I want Kyagulanyi to refund taxpayers money that was wasted on the scholarship he got at Makerere,” Mabirizi says. “I want him to be suspended from running for any elective office for a period of 7 years on top of being sentenced to one year in prison,” he adds.

Apparently, the LDC magistrates court has as of today morning issued criminal summons against the NUP leader.

If Bobi responds to the summons, Mabirizi is to receive UGX 50m from the NRM party secretariat which is financing him to frustrate Bobi’s political career.
