Disturbing news coming in from Makindye indicates that a 14 year old girl is struggling to attain justice after being defiled by a one Elijah Owobusingye who is a brother to the police chief, Asan Kasingye.
Owobusingye who is a former NRM flag bearer for the Makindye East polls is in the spotlight after allegedly molesting a minor aged 14 years. The victim is a pupil in primary six and has been home since schools were closed due to covid guidelines.
The mother to the minor says she has pursued justice for her child but all in vain. Whenever she goes to Kabalagala police station to file a case, she is denied the opportunity. “I have spent a month now trying to file a case but whenever I go to Kabalagala police station, I am asked to negotiate with Owobusingye,” the mother tearfully narrates. “I cannot negotiate with a chile molester. I just want justice for my daughter,” she adds.
Police sources say the suspect uses his blood relations to Kasingye to deter the victim’s relatives from filing a case. A police officer at the rank of sergeant in the Kabalagala station retorts that Kasingye is aware of what is happening.
“He knows what takes place. The DPC keeps updating him. I think he is the one who ordered the DPC to frustrate the case,” says the police source. “Personally I cannot oppose my bosses. I do as they instruct,” he adds.
The mother to the victim says she will not relent from pursuing justice for her child. “I will continue coming to the station to report regardless of what they do to cover up for this criminal,” she swore.
