Otafiire who spoke to media this morning says he is concerned about the deteriorating health condition of Ssegirinya. ”We want the prisons warders to explain to us what exactly happened to Ssegirinya,” Otafiire said. “When they took him to custody he looked healthier than he was when he recently appeared in court,” he added.

Otafiire also added that they are to institute a probe to establish if the MP was tortured by the warders.

On Monday when the NUP party president Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine visited Kigo, he raised concerns on the frailing state of Ssegirinya whom he says required urgent medical attention.

“Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana are alive but in pain, especially Hon. Ssegirinya. As we saw on TV, his foot is sick, swollen, and has bumps all over. He informed us that he doesn’t know what they did to him because they beat him so bad that he blacked out. Gaining consciousness, he was sick from the foot, and actually, the second foot is being affected,” Bobi said. “He informed us that the doctors have been treating him, but he believes he needs advanced treatment,” he added.
