According to Amuriat, all those that are scathing about the front are the real ‘enemies of the struggle’ who do not want to see the country attaining change. Eng. Amuriat says at first he thought without the input of NUP, their front would suffer a stillbirth but to his surprise, he is seeing their work rather progressing.

“We know they are now the leaders of opposition but still we can do things on our own and at our pace,” he says. “Whether NUP is on board or not, we have reached a point where we don’t mind. Good enough we’ve invited them but all in vain. Ugandans are hungry for change and we can’t waste our time bickering on petty issues,” he adds.

The Teso strongman has since the election aftermath varnished out of the limelight following his poor performance in the polls. According to the Electoral Commission, Amuriat was the third candidate having polled about 3% of the total votes making it the worst performance for an FDC presidential candidate since the revival of multiparty democracy.
