There is looming tension within state house as Gen. Yoweri Museveni fears that he may be prematurely overthrown like his Guinean counterpart Alpha Conde. Credible sources in intelligence reveal that ever since the bombs hit the capital, Kampala on Tuesday, Gen. Museveni has feared to leave State House Nakasero where the tragedy found him on that ill fated day.

“He has stayed here for at least two days,” revealed a security source who asked not to be named as he is not authorised to speak to media. “We are closely assessing the situation to see if normalcy can be restored,” he added.

The old man from Rwakitura is said to be heavily suspicious of his own security detail as he believes some may fall prey to the influence of his nemesis Paul Kagame. Museveni believes he has been infiltrated by the ‘weevils’ he always talks about.

Ever since the bombs triggered, Museveni’s security has been beefed up with reshuffles ongoing every after 3 hours unlike the morning and evening shifts like case has been before.

According to insiders, Museveni’s fear stems from the fact that the two bombs that hit key government installations (Central Police Station and ICT Ministry) were planted just a few meters away from State House Nakasero.

The president was expected to hold an address on Friday but he has opted to defer it to a later date for security reasons.
