The police spokesperson Fred Enanga in Thursday confirmed the killing of Sheikh Muhammed Kirevu by the security forces in Nsangi, Wakiso district as he reportedly tried to resist arrest early Thursday morning at around 4am.

Enanga said Sheihk Kirevu was an active recruitment personnel for the ADF in Kampala. “He was recruiting for ADF and he had targeted young people from vulnerable families,” Enanga said.

Sheikh gunned down

According to the son of now the later Kirevu, Security operatives came early morning at around 4am where they asked his mother whom she was living with. The woman answered that she only lived with her children.

The Security forces insisted they wanted her husband and finally they were able to grab him out of the house.

Kirevu’s son adds that at the point they were ordered to go back inside and sleep and the security forces took their father outside.

The son adds that a few minutes later, they had gun shots only to find out that their father had been put out of action.

Kirevu’s wife is also currently being detained with police saying that they want to find out if she has some information which could help the Security forces as far as her husband’s activities were concerned.

Enanga also noted that security is currently looking for one Sheikh Nsubuga who is involved in training, radicalization and providing resources and other materials on use of IEDS to those recruited.

He said the suspect is currently on the run.
