Following a successful air and artillery strike on ADF camps in the areas of Northern Kivu in Eastern DRC, the Ugandan Army together with her DRC counterpart are now on ground as they try to completely eliminate the ADF rebels in the area.

Residents of Eastern DRC walk up seeing a large heavily armed force patrolling through the villages as they move deep into the forest to encircle and completely destroy the rebel group that is responsible for killing over 1200 civilians in this year alone.

Yesterday’s air and artillery strikes targeted the rebel camps of Madina 1 and 2 as well as Katanda and Mashini.

Sources within the UPDF told this media that Uganda has sofar sent in 7500 troops with more 2500 to be in DRC by Friday.

Commander Land Forces Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba is reportedly with the soldiers taking full control of all the operations so far.

UPDF Spokesperson Brig. Flavia Byekwaso in a press statement said that the strikes were on target and have inflicted heavy damages on the rebels.

Byekwaaso promised Victory and said that this will be the last time the ADF will ever think of disturbing the peace of Uganda.
