The opposition Forum for Democratic Change party spokesperson also Kiira municipality legislator Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has expressed his support for the incumbent Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Anita Among whom he believes is the suitable candidate to replace the deceased Jacob Oulanyah.
Nganda believes even when Among crossed from FDC to NRM, she is of their DNA and therefore she will serve even the interests of her former party.
Nganda says there is no law that forces Among to vacate her current position and adds that she is eligible even when she does not tender in her resignation.
He adds that in case Anita Among wins the speaker race, she should out of courtesy consider an opposition MP from FDC to deputize her at the eleventh parliament.
“The NRM should consider leaving the Deputy Speaker slot for us (FDC),” Nganda says.

Meanwhile, on the slot of back bench Commissioner, Among wants NUP to replace Zaake with Busiro East MP Medard Lubega Ssegona. It should be noted that even in yesterday’s news statements, Ssegona was indirectly campaigning for Among when he stated that there is no clause that asks her to resign from her Deputy Speaker seat before running for Speaker. Even during the Zaake censure, Ssegona was mute despite attending most of the Katuntu committee proceedings, an indication that he wanted Zaake to lose his slot so he can take over from him.
