Kasambya County MP, Hon David Kabanda has expressed dissatisfaction alleging that there were a lot of dirty dealings involved in the office of the Presidency when it came to appointing Residential District Commissioners and their Deputies.
Kabanda said the Milly Babalanda led Ministry solicited 20 million as a bribe from individuals who desperately wanted to be appointed RDCS something which was unethical and against the law.
Kabanda said many hardworking and dedicated cadres who could not afford the 20 million or unwilling to pay the bribe were dropped from the list something that may affect the proper running of Government.
“It’s very unfortunate that many RDC’S were dropped because they couldn’t afford hefty bribes asked by officials in the ministry of Presidency under Milly Babalanda. Understand it was required for each to pay 20M to retain their positions. SAD!” Kabanda wrote in his official Twitter handle
Earlier, Minister Milly Babalanda was under pressure from the public after it was found out that her husband, brother and daughter made it to the RDC appointment list in a dubious way. She however disregarded it as hogwash claiming all her appointments were squarely on merit citing NUP Masaka coordinator who made it to the list.
“Should we say that he (NUP Masaka coordinator) bribed me to make it to the list?,” she asked. “Maybe my colleague (Kabanda) is disappointed that one of his friends did not make it to the list,” she added.
