In the aftermath of the 2021 general elections, the opposition National Unity Platform party presidential candidate Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert filed an election petition challenging the victory of the NRM party chairman Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who had been declared by the Electoral Commission chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama as the victor.

Hon. Kyagulanyi and his legal team later resolved to withdraw the case citing impartiality of the judiciary. His argument was that Dollo was once a lawyer to President Museveni during the 2006 election petition filed by Dr. Kizza  Besigye. Bobi’s lawyers argued that since Dollo and Museveni have an understanding, it was impossible for him to lose the election petition in any Ugandan court especially when he is even the appointing of the office of the chief justice.

Now, a police officer in the CCTV surveillance leaked a footage showing vehicles of the Chief Justice approaching state house.

Investigations were subsequently launched and now the police disciplinary committee has resolved to relieve the yet to be named police officer of his duties for allegedly breaching the rules that guide the police code of conduct on VIP treatment.
