The speaker of the eleventh Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Among has threatened to crack whip on the Rubabo county Member of Parliament Naboth Namanya, a day after a video clip of him shouting at the Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Monica Musenero went viral.

According to reports in parliament, Among says she is very disappointed and disturbed by the ‘outrageous’ conduct of Hon. Naboth, adding that she is likely to redeploy the rules, privileges and discipline committee to investigate the matter.

Among says Parliament cannot be run like a ‘market’ and that she expects MPs to follow the rules of procedure.

“We cannot give a bad picture to the public. I did not like how the honourable member misbehaved in front of the Minister,” she said. “I will call on the rules, privileges and discipline committee to follow up and we have that resolved,” she added.

Among also says MPs must learn from the impeachment of the opposition Member of Parliament for Mityana municipality Zaake Francis Butebi who was earlier booted out of the Parliamentary Commission, on grounds of misconduct.

“We can come for you if you do not want to behave like a honourable member. Don’t you see how we tamed Hon. Zaake,” she said.

Meanwhile, Among has also threatened to scrap off the Vinci company coffee report from today’s order paper in case opposition Members of Parliament protest during plenary.
