The court case of the jailed National Unity Platform party lawmakers Allan Ssewanyana of Makindye West and Muhammad Ssegirinya of Kawempe North is set to be heard at the court of appeal this Thursday morning at Twed Towers.

The suspects have not yet been brought to court despite the fact the time has already ticked. The judge in the case is also a no show. Court is filled to capacity with relatives, friends and local leaders from NUP.

Also in the courtroom is Ssegirinya’s mother, Kalungu MP Joseph Gonzaga Ssewungu, Zaake Francis Butebi and Shamim Malende who is one of the counsels in the case.

The MPs are appealing court decision to maintain them on remand despite the expiry of the constitutional 180 days!
