Exclusive news coming in indicates that police at Wera Police Station in Amuria District, Teso subregion are holding a one Okurut Michael, who slapped the Hon Musa Echweru, Member of Parliament for Amuria County and Minister of State for Works and Transport.

This happened at St. Michael Catholic Church on Sunday Okurut having moved to the altar, knelt down as though in sincere prayers as the minister was speaking only for him to lay a slap on the Minister’s head.

The suspect is said to have left his seat from the side of the backbench congregants and instituted a heavy slap on the Minister, leaving his security detail in total panic. The aggressive congregant was approached by the CT police guarding the Minister which restrained him from afflicting more harm on the Minister, before whisking him off to safety.

By press time, police had not issued a statement on the matter but a source says the errant man is to be slapped with charges of assault.
