In his Cyber Bullying Private Bill, unauthorized use of someone’s photo and use of insults will have penalties: • Either a fine of UGX50 million or 10 yrs in prison.
• No serving in any public office for 10 yrs.

Nsereko says the bill will at least help minimize computer misuse which he says has been rampant with many youth taking to social media platforms to offend political leaders and cultural institutions.

“This is not war on free speech as perpetuated by the opponents of this bill. It is for our own good. We need to have a country wherr dignity is upheld,” Nsereko said. “We have seen many people on social media demeaning religious and culture institutions. Attacking the Kabaka must stop,” he added.
