Democratic Party President general Nobert Mao has been appointed as the new Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, a slot that has been vacant since cabinet was appointed in 2021.
Mao’s appointment comes hours after he signed a Memorandum of cooperation with the ruling NRM party.
It’s not the first time that Gen. Museveni is fishing from the opposition. The current state Minister for information Joyce Ssebugwawo was fished from FDC while the Speaker Anita Among and her Deputy Thomas Tayebwa are all former FDC stalwarts.
Norbert Mao is a Ugandan political activist and lawyer who has been president of the Democratic Party since 2010, three time presidential candidate and served as the Local Council 5 chairman for Gulu District.
