Lukwago is said to have suffered trauma from the assault he underwent during the talk show after Opondo abandoned his seat and charged at him, with threats that he would apply force and eject him from studio.

Lukwago has registered a case of assault and threatening violence with the police and urged the detectives to expedite the investigations into Ofwono’s misconduct on air.

Contacted for a comment, Opondo who is the Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre disregarded the complaints raised by Lukwago, stating that the Lord Mayor is simply ‘lobbying for sympathy.’

“He will give up on his own. We are the government in power. Why doesn’t he go and report to his so called People’s Govt,” Opondo remarked.
